Here at Pegasus Retirement Homes plc, our mission statement is: “To
satisfy the housing needs of our customers through the profitable
development of high quality apartments for the active retired.”
Since 1984, when Pegasus opened its first development of apartments in
Cheltenham, the company has built in 67 locations, providing in excess
of 2400 homes and earning numerous industry, community and architectural
awards.
The main equity partner for our company is the leading corporate bank,
the Royal Bank of Scotland. In supporting Pegasus the bank, with assets
of over £1000 billion, has recognized the importance of the retirement
housing market and the strength of the Pegasus team. Pegasus now has
access to £168 million of funding and is on track to grow the business
and expand into new locations.
From each development's location to the quality of construction and the
personal services and support we provide throughout ownership, Pegasus
seeks to promote independence, security and a comfortable life in
retirement.
“By removing the worries of security and upkeep and replacing them
with convenience, comfort and a sense of community, we enable people of
retirement age to choose a beautiful new home and carry on living an
independent, active and full life.”
– Peter F Askew, Chief Executive

Environmental policy
At each stage of planning, construction and into ownership we are
committed to reducing the environmental impact of our developments.
Our developments themselves have inherent environmental benefits,
maximizing the effective use of land and often breathing new life into
urban brownfield sites. They nearly always involve a single building,
improving thermal efficiency and reducing heating requirements, whilst
surveys amongst Owners show low car ownership, low traffic generation,
low levels of domestic waste and a higher than average commitment to
waste recycling.
Sound codes of environmental impact are an integral part of our
appointment of contractors and suppliers. To find out more, you can download
our Environmental Policy or contact our Bath Road office.
